The bill also outlines the requirements for health care providers to document telehealth services, including the type of service, time of service, and compliance with established criteria for delivering services through telehealth.

Additionally, the bill clarifies the definition of telehealth to include real-time two-way interactive audio and visual communication, while excluding audio-only communication outside the specified timeframe. It establishes that telehealth services will be reimbursed at the same rate as in-person services and allows for telehealth visits to satisfy face-to-face requirements for certain health care facilities. The effective date for these changes is set for July 1, 2025, or upon federal approval, whichever is later.
