The bill proposes the appropriation of $14,000,000 from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of natural resources for the acquisition of property and easements, as well as the predesign and design of a new bike trail connecting the cities of Harmony and Caledonia. The trail will follow marked Trunk Highway 44 and U.S. Highway 52, passing through the cities of Canton, Mabel, and Spring Grove. This funding is designated for Phase 1 of the project, and any unspent funds after the project's completion can be used for engineering and construction of the bike trail, following written notice to the commissioner of management and budget.
