This bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 500.215, subdivision 1, to prohibit any restrictions on the display of certain flags by owners or tenants of residential properties. Specifically, it makes unenforceable any provisions in deeds, subdivision regulations, restrictive covenants, local ordinances, contracts, rental agreements, or homeowners association documents that limit the right to display the United States flag, the National League of Families POW/MIA flag, flags of any branch of the United States Armed Forces, or Blue Star and Gold Star Service flags.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that the term "homeowners association document" encompasses various governing documents of both common interest communities and residential communities. It also establishes an effective date for the new provisions, stating that they will take effect the day after final enactment and will apply to all limitations described, regardless of when they were adopted.
