This bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 245.50, to allow individuals on probation or parole to access certain mental health services, which was previously prohibited. Specifically, the bill removes the restriction that barred individuals on probation or parole from receiving these services, thereby expanding access to mental health care for this population.

Additionally, the bill introduces a new subdivision that requires any Minnesota mental health, chemical health, or detoxification agency or facility that enters into a contract with a bordering state to notify the commissioner of human services. They must provide a copy of the contract within 30 days of its effective date, as well as any amendments to the contract within 30 days of their effective dates. This aims to ensure transparency and oversight in the contracting process for mental health services.
