This bill mandates that retailers selling skin-lightening products display signage warning consumers about the dangers of mercury-containing products. Effective after August 1, 2026, the signage must inform the public that selling such products is illegal and may lead to health risks. The signs must be prominently placed in retail locations to ensure visibility for customers purchasing or considering the purchase of these products.

Additionally, the bill requires the commissioners of the Pollution Control Agency and the Department of Health to collaborate with community organizations to develop the signage. The signs must include information in multiple languages, specifically English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, French, Ethiopian, and Oromo, to effectively reach a diverse audience.
