This bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124D.992, subdivision 2, to modify the allowable uses of school library aid. The revised language specifies that school library aid must be reserved for directly funding costs associated with a school or school library media center, including the salaries and benefits of a school library media specialist.

Additionally, the bill removes previous provisions that allowed school library aid to be used for electronic, computer, and audiovisual equipment, as well as information technology infrastructure and digital tools. The effective date for these changes is set for fiscal year 2026 and later.
