This bill appropriates a total of $4,000,000 from the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) over two fiscal years, specifically $2,000,000 for fiscal year 2026 and $2,000,000 for fiscal year 2027. The funding is intended to support microentrepreneurs through various means, including training, workshops, and one-on-one consultations, as well as capacity building and general operations.

Additionally, the grant proceeds will assist prospective entrepreneurs in the start-up process by providing them with essential business knowledge, such as business start-up readiness and innovative career pathways in fields like trades, green lending, technology, coding, STEM careers, translation services, and manufacturing. This initiative aims to enhance workforce development and promote economic growth within the Latino community.
