This bill mandates that home rule charter cities, statutory cities, and towns in Minnesota must provide landlords with a copy of the attorney general's landlord-tenant guide when issuing or renewing rental licenses, registration, certificates of occupancy, or similar documents that allow a dwelling unit to be occupied by a residential tenant. If the rental document is issued or renewed electronically, the city or town is required to provide a link to the guide on the attorney general's website. The proposed legal language for this requirement is to be codified in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 471, under the new section [471.9994] LANDLORD-TENANT GUIDE.
