The bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 97C.315, subdivision 1, to allow anglers who possess a walleye stamp validation to use additional fishing lines. Specifically, it permits these anglers to use two lines for fishing in open water and four lines when fishing through the ice.
Additionally, the bill maintains existing provisions that allow the use of two lines for ice fishing and in designated areas of Lake Superior, as well as in specific sections of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers. The deletion of certain language clarifies the new regulations while ensuring that the previous allowances for line usage remain intact.
