This bill appropriates $8,000,000 from the bond proceeds account in the state transportation fund to the commissioner of transportation for the Progress Parkway project in the city of Eveleth. The funds will be used for various activities including predesign, design, engineering, environmental analysis and mitigation, land acquisition, construction, and reconstruction of the roadway, which will improve intersections and realign and extend the road from U.S. Highway 53 and St. Louis County State-Aid Highway 142 to Trunk Highway 37 and Station 44 Road. This appropriation is in addition to a previous allocation for the same purpose.

To finance this appropriation, the bill authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to sell and issue state bonds up to the amount of $8,000,000, following the procedures outlined in Minnesota Statutes. The bill also specifies that it will take effect the day after it is enacted.
