The bill appropriates $9,000,000 from the bond proceeds fund to the public facilities authority for the city of New Auburn, specifically for the predesign, design, engineering, construction, and equipping of stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water infrastructure. This funding will support improvements and replacements of municipal wastewater ponds, spray irrigation and sanitary sewer systems, storm sewer systems, and water main distribution systems, all aimed at enhancing water quality, flow, fire protection, and accountability within the community.
Additionally, the bill authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to sell and issue state bonds up to the amount of $9,000,000 to finance the appropriated funds. The bond issuance will be conducted in accordance with existing Minnesota statutes and constitutional provisions. The effective date of this section is set for the day following its final enactment.
