Furthermore, the bill modifies the existing provisions regarding directory information by including a parent's contact details in the restrictions on what can be designated as public data. It clarifies that educational agencies or institutions must treat both student and parent personal contact information as private data, effective the day following the bill's final enactment. This change aims to strengthen the protection of personal information while still allowing for necessary communication related to voter outreach in school district elections.
