The bill appropriates funds for public safety radio grants in Minnesota, specifically targeting Rock, Jackson, Lac qui Parle, Roseau, and Red Lake counties. A total of $....... is allocated from the general fund for the fiscal year 2026 to support these counties in participating in the statewide Allied Radio Matrix for Emergency Response (ARMER) public safety radio communication system. The funds are designated for the purchase or upgrade of portable and mobile radios, as well as related equipment that is compatible with the ARMER system.

Each of the eligible counties will receive a grant of $300,000, which is contingent upon securing a 50 percent match from nonstate sources. This funding is intended to enhance public safety communication capabilities within these counties and is characterized as a one-time appropriation.
