This bill appropriates $4,800,000 from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of public safety for a grant to the city of Maplewood. The funds are designated for the design and engineering of improvements and expansion at the East Metro Public Safety Training Facility. The appropriation covers the design of a new main training building, ancillary training buildings, a storage building, as well as necessary infrastructure improvements such as parking and stormwater management. Additionally, it includes funding for land acquisition and enhancements to existing fire training burn buildings.

To finance this appropriation, the bill authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to sell and issue state bonds up to the amount of $4,800,000, following the procedures outlined in Minnesota Statutes and the Minnesota Constitution. The effective date of this section is set for the day following its final enactment.
