The bill appropriates $12,000,000 from the bond proceeds fund to the Hibbing Public Utilities Commission for the purpose of upgrading the municipal clean drinking water distribution system and its source of supply. This funding will cover the costs associated with predesign, design, construction, furnishing, and equipping the necessary infrastructure improvements.
To facilitate this appropriation, the bill authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to sell and issue state bonds up to the amount of $12,000,000, following the guidelines set forth in Minnesota Statutes and the Minnesota Constitution. The provisions of this bill will take effect the day after it is enacted.
