This bill appropriates $10,000,000 from the bond proceeds account in the state transportation fund to the commissioner of transportation for improvements to Carver County State-Aid Highway 18, also known as 82nd Street West. The funding will be used for environmental analysis, property or permanent easement acquisition, design, engineering, and construction of the highway and associated trails from Bavaria Road to Trunk Highway 41 in the cities of Victoria, Chaska, and Chanhassen. The appropriation will be available once the commissioner of management and budget confirms that sufficient funds have been committed to complete the project.

Additionally, the bill authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to sell and issue state bonds up to $10,000,000 to provide the necessary funding for the project. The bond sale will be conducted in accordance with existing Minnesota statutes and constitutional provisions. The effective date of this section is the day following its final enactment.
