new text begin $2,500,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to The Ethiopian Community in
Minnesota, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to acquire property, and to predesign, design,
construct, renovate, furnish, and equip an Ethiopian Community Center to create a gathering
place for Ethiopian youth and families to gather and connect with their Ethiopian history
and culture. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until the project is completed
or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
