This bill amends the Social Welfare Act of 1939 by adding a new section, 14n, which mandates the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to monitor bridge card transaction data for extended out-of-state usage. Specifically, the department is required to track instances where an individual's Michigan bridge card is used outside of Michigan for more than 90 consecutive days.

If the department identifies such usage, it is authorized to suspend the individual's bridge card, pending verification of their residency in Michigan or their eligibility for benefits. This measure aims to ensure that benefits are only provided to those who are residents of Michigan, thereby preventing potential misuse of the bridge card system.
