The bill clarifies that the director's authority to regulate insurance remains intact and that qualified plans must still comply with all relevant federal and state laws.

Furthermore, the bill defines "qualified dental plan" and "qualified health plan" by referencing existing definitions in the Michigan health insurance exchange act. It also stipulates that this amendatory act will only take effect if Senate Bill No. 973 of the 103rd Legislature is enacted into law.
