The bill amends the Public Officers Financial Disclosure Act by updating the filing deadline for financial disclosure reports. Currently, public officers are required to submit their reports by May 15 each year. However, beginning after May 15, 2027, the deadline will change to April 15 of each year. This amendment clarifies that the new deadline applies to all public officers, except for those who were only in office on the first day of the calendar year.

Additionally, the bill removes the previous requirement for public officers to file a financial disclosure report for the reporting period of January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, by June 13, 2025. It also specifies that if a public officer receives notice from the secretary of state regarding errors or omissions in their report, they must correct these issues or file the report within nine business days of receiving the notice.
