The bill amends the Revised School Code by adding Section 1170c, which mandates the development of a model presentation on organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation programs. This presentation, to be created by the department in consultation with the state's federally designated organ procurement organization, must be made available to public schools by January 1, 2027. It is designed to fit within one class period and will include information about the Michigan organ donor registry.

Starting in the 2027-2028 school year, school districts and public school academies are encouraged to provide this model presentation to students before they complete grade 9. Additionally, the bill stipulates that students can be excused from attending the presentation without penalty if their parent or legal guardian submits a written request.
