The Department of Health will award $5,000,000 annually in grants to at least 19 certified recovery community organizations and nonprofit associations that meet specific criteria, including having recovery organizations as members and focusing on education and advocacy for recovery. The minimum grant amount for recovery community organizations is set at $250,000, with a cap of 50% of the organization's operating budget from the previous year. Nonprofit associations will also receive grants of $250,000.
Additionally, the bill outlines the requirements for grant recipients, emphasizing the need for recovery support navigation, outreach education, and community engagement activities. It mandates that grant recipients file annual reports detailing their expenditures, participant engagement, and recovery support services provided.
