This bill amends the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act by modifying section 80124a to establish a Great Lakes protection specialty watercraft decal. The secretary of state is tasked with designing and making this decal available for purchase at a price of $35. The revenue generated from the sale of these decals will be allocated as specified in section 80124b. Additionally, the secretary of state has the authority to determine the appropriate placement of these decals on watercraft to avoid confusion with other required decals.

The bill also removes a previous requirement that mandated the secretary of state to discontinue sales of the decals if a minimum number of decals were not sold within specified timeframes. This change allows for the continued sale of the Great Lakes protection specialty watercraft decals without the pressure of meeting sales quotas, thereby promoting ongoing support for Great Lakes protection efforts. The enactment of this amendment will take effect one year after it is signed into law.
