The bill amends the Child Protection Law by introducing new requirements for training materials related to the reporting of suspected child abuse or neglect. The Department of Health and Human Services is tasked with creating comprehensive training materials in consultation with relevant organizations, which must then be provided to mandatory reporters by their employers. Employers are exempt from this requirement if they offer their own training that is updated annually based on the state's materials. Additionally, the department is required to make these training materials publicly available on its website.

Furthermore, the bill mandates that individuals required to report child abuse or neglect must complete training developed under this section once every three years. If they complete continuing education based on the training, that time will count towards the three-year requirement. The enactment of this bill is contingent upon the passage of House Bill No. 4530.
