This bill amends the Revised School Code by adding Section 1509, which mandates the Department of Health and Human Services to develop and distribute an informational notice regarding the dangers of high-potency THC cannabis products and vaping. The notice, which must be available in English, Spanish, and Arabic, is to be provided to public and nonpublic schools by July 1, 2026, and will include resources for prevention and treatment. The department is also required to update this notice annually to reflect any new health education or medical research findings.

Starting with the 2026-2027 school year, school boards and governing bodies are required to ensure that the informational notices are sent to the parents or legal guardians of all enrolled students by October 1 each year. Additionally, they must post a link to the department's webpage containing this information on their own websites. The bill also includes provisions for civil liability immunity for the department and educational institutions regarding the informational notice. Definitions for "THC" and "vaping" are provided to clarify the terms used in the section.
