The bill amends section 22 of chapter XVII of the Michigan Code of Criminal Procedure, specifically addressing the scoring of offense variables for various categories of crimes. It introduces new scoring requirements for homicide-related offenses, including the scoring of offense variables 5 and 6 for homicide, attempted homicide, conspiracy or solicitation to commit homicide, and assault with intent to commit murder. Additionally, it specifies that offense variable 16 should be scored for violations related to section 110a of the Michigan penal code, and offense variables 17 and 18 should be scored if the offense involves the operation of certain vehicles or vessels.

Furthermore, the bill modifies the scoring of offense variables for crimes against property, controlled substances, public order, public trust, and public safety by adding and removing specific variables. Notably, offense variable 7 is added for property crimes, and offense variable 11 is added for property and controlled substance crimes. The enactment of this bill is contingent upon the passage of two other specified bills from the 103rd Legislature.
