The bill amends section 6431 of the Revised Judicature Act of 1961, establishing specific requirements for filing claims against the state of Michigan. It stipulates that a claimant must file either a written claim or a notice of intention to file a claim within one year of the claim accruing. Furthermore, the amendments are retroactive to actions pending on the effective date of the act and will only take effect if Senate Bill No. 257 is enacted into law.
