The bill amends the Revised School Code by adding Section 1308g, which mandates that starting in the 2026-2027 school year, both public and nonpublic schools must develop, adopt, and implement a school safety and security training plan. This plan must ensure that school resource officers, safety personnel, crisis response team members, and all school staff complete the required training as outlined in Section 1308f.

Additionally, the governing body of a nonpublic school has the option to exempt their institution from these requirements. The enactment of this bill is contingent upon the passage of two other specified bills from the 103rd Legislature.
