This bill authorizes the state administrative board to convey state-owned property located in Eaton County to the Michigan Police Equipment Company. The conveyance aims to resolve a slight encroachment of the company's buildings on state land, which has been deemed surplus by the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget. The property must be sold for at least fair market value, determined by an independent appraisal, and the conveyance will be executed via a quitclaim deed approved by the Department of Attorney General.
Additionally, the bill stipulates that the state will not retain any oil, gas, or mineral rights to the conveyed property; however, if the Michigan Police Equipment Company develops such resources, they must pay the state half of the gross revenue generated. The bill also reserves all aboriginal antiquities found on the property for the state and mandates that the net revenue from the sale be deposited into the state treasury and credited to the general fund, after deducting any associated costs.
