HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.328
The Speaker, on behalf of the entire membership of the House of
Representatives, offered the following resolution:
1 A resolution of tribute for the Honorable Jaime Churches.
2 Whereas, It is with gratitude that we recognize Representative
3 Jaime Churches for her work on behalf of the citizens of Michigan
4 and, in particular, her constituents in the Twenty-seventh
5 District. Throughout her tenure in the House, Representative
6 Churches’ hard work has benefited not only the people of Southern
7 Southgate, Wyandotte, Riverview, Trenton, Gibraltar, and Grosse Ile
8 Township, but all of Michigan’s citizens; and
9 Whereas, Throughout most of her career, Representative
10 Churches has shown a dedication to working with Michigan’s youth.
11 She first obtained a bachelor’s degree in integrated science and
12 elementary education and then a master’s degree in educational

1 leadership from Madonna University. She then worked as a fifth-
2 grade teacher in the Gibraltar, Woodhaven-Brownstown, and Grosse
3 Ile Township school districts, while also serving as the former
4 union vice president of the Michigan Education Association’s Grosse
5 Ile unit; and
6 Whereas, Since her election to the House of Representatives in
7 2022, Representative Churches has continued to use her knowledge
8 and experience in education to better the lives of students
9 throughout Michigan, including by serving as the majority vice
10 chair of the Education Committee. She also served as a member of
11 the House committees on Elections; Energy, Communications, and
12 Technology; Ethics and Oversight; and Labor. Representative
13 Churches’ dedication and integrity stand as clear examples of what
14 it takes to be a successful public servant and strong leader; now,
15 therefore, be it
16 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we offer this
17 expression of tribute to commend and thank the Honorable Jaime
18 Churches for her notable contributions to this legislative body and
19 to our state; and be it further
20 Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
21 Representative Jaime Churches as evidence of our appreciation and
22 best wishes as she leaves this legislative body.
