HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.327
The Speaker, on behalf of the entire membership of the House of
Representatives, offered the following resolution:
1 A resolution of tribute to the Honorable Felicia Brabec, Ph.D.
2 Whereas, It is with great appreciation for her hard work and
3 dedication to the Michigan House of Representatives that we commend
4 Representative Felicia Brabec upon completion of her service as a
5 member of this chamber. In her two terms in office, she has ably
6 represented the citizens of Washtenaw County—first in the Fifty-
7 fifth District and now the Thirty-third District. Throughout the
8 last four years, her passion and commitment to improving the lives
9 of Michiganders have benefited not only her constituents but the
10 whole of our state’s citizenry; and
11 Whereas, Representative Brabec joined the legislature in 2021
12 after serving as a Washtenaw County Commissioner from 2011 to 2020.

1 In addition to her public service experience, Representative Brabec
2 brought to the legislature a wealth of experience in clinical
3 psychology and social work. A graduate of Saint Mary’s College,
4 Boston College, and the Illinois School of Professional Psychology,
5 she is a licensed clinical psychologist who has operated her own
6 practice in Washtenaw County; and
7 Whereas, In her two terms as a State Representative, Felicia
8 Brabec has been a strong advocate for affordable mental and
9 physical healthcare, women’s reproductive freedom, organ donation,
10 criminal justice reform, and environmental justice. Her expertise
11 and passion proved indispensable in her time as Chair of the Health
12 Policy Subcommittee on Behavioral Health and the Appropriations
13 Subcommittee on General Government. During her first term,
14 Representative Brabec also served as Vice Chair of the
15 Appropriations subcommittees on Higher Education and Community
16 Colleges, and Health and Human Services. Further, she has been an
17 active member of the House Appropriations subcommittees on
18 Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy; Military and Veterans Affairs
19 and State Police; and Judiciary; now, therefore, be it
20 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we offer this
21 expression of tribute to commend and thank the Honorable Felicia
22 Brabec, Ph.D., for her notable contributions to this legislative
23 body and to our state; and be it further
24 Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
25 Representative Felicia Brabec as evidence of our appreciation and
26 best wishes as she leaves this legislative body.
