HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.322
The Speaker, on behalf of the entire membership of the House of
Representatives, offered the following resolution:
1 A resolution of tribute for the Honorable Jenn Hill.
2 Whereas, We now take this opportunity to recognize and thank
3 the Honorable Jenn Hill’s dedicated service to this chamber as the
4 Representative for the One Hundred-ninth District. Since assuming
5 office in 2023, Representative Hill has honorably served not only
6 her constituents in the counties of Alger, Baraga, Dickinson, and
7 Marquette, but Michiganders statewide; and
8 Whereas, Representative Hill’s prior educational and
9 professional experiences marked her as an excellent candidate to
10 serve in this chamber. The Illinois native received a bachelor’s
11 degree in anthropology from Barnard College in New York City as
12 well as a master’s degree in city planning from the Massachusetts

1 Institute of Technology. The Honorable Representative leveraged
2 these experiences to launch a successful decades-long career
3 building sustainable communities and leading community-centered
4 nonprofit programs. Before her election to this chamber,
5 Representative Hill was also appointed by Governor Whitmer to the
6 Upper Peninsula Energy Task Force, served as Vice President of the
7 Citizens Utility Board of Michigan, and was active in various
8 community programs, including the Marquette Community Garden,
9 Noquemanon Trail Network, and Marquette Regional History Center;
10 and
11 Whereas, Since her election to this chamber, Representative
12 Hill has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving her constituents
13 in the One Hundred-ninth District. She has served with distinction
14 as the vice chair of the Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism,
15 and Outdoor Recreation Committee and as a member of the House
16 committees on Energy, Communications, and Technology; Higher
17 Education; and Local Government and Municipal Finance. The
18 Representative’s involvement in numerous committees during her
19 tenure of service stands as a testament to her devotion to
20 improving the lives of Michiganders statewide; now, therefore, be
21 it
22 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we offer this
23 expression of tribute to commend and thank the Honorable Jenn Hill
24 for her notable contributions to this legislative body and the
25 state of Michigan; and be it further
26 Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
27 Representative Jenn Hill as evidence of our appreciation and best
28 wishes as she leaves this legislative body.
