HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.324
The Speaker, on behalf of the entire membership of the House of
Representatives, offered the following resolution:
1 A resolution of tribute for the Honorable Nate Shannon.
2 Whereas, It is with gratitude that we recognize Representative
3 Nate Shannon for his work on behalf of the citizens of Michigan
4 and, in particular, his constituents in the Twenty-fifth and Fifty-
5 eighth Districts. Throughout his tenure in the House,
6 Representative Shannon’s hard work has benefited not only the
7 people in portions of Warren, Sterling Heights, Utica, and Shelby
8 Township, but all of Michigan’s citizens; and
9 Whereas, Prior to joining the Legislature, Representative
10 Shannon worked to better the lives of Michigan youth. He obtained a
11 bachelor’s degree in political science from Oakland University and
12 then attended Wayne State University to obtain a master’s degree in

1 secondary education. He utilized his education as a high school
2 teacher with L’Anse Creuse Public Schools, while also serving on
3 the Sterling Heights City Council; and
4 Whereas, Since his election to the House of Representatives in
5 2018, Representative Shannon has continued to work to better the
6 lives of Michiganders across our state. He served as the chair of
7 the Transportation, Mobility and Infrastructure Committee, as well
8 as a member of the House committees on Education; Energy; Local
9 Government and Municipal Finance; Natural Resources, Environment,
10 Tourism and Outdoor Recreation; and Transportation. Representative
11 Shannon’s dedication and integrity stand as clear examples of what
12 it takes to be a successful public servant and strong leader; now,
13 therefore, be it
14 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we offer this
15 expression of tribute to commend and thank the Honorable Nate
16 Shannon for his notable contributions to this legislative body and
17 to our state; and be it further
18 Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
19 Representative Nate Shannon as evidence of our appreciation and
20 best wishes as he leaves this legislative body.
