HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.320
The Speaker, on behalf of the entire membership of the House of
Representatives, offered the following resolution:
1 A resolution of tribute to for the Honorable Andrew Beeler.
2 Whereas, For serving this legislative body with great
3 commitment, we commend and thank Representative Andrew Beeler. He
4 has worked diligently for four years on behalf of the residents of
5 first the Eighty-third and now the Sixty-fourth District located in
6 Port Huron and communities in Sanilac County and St. Clair County,
7 as well as the people of the entire state of Michigan; and
8 Whereas, Representative Beeler graduated from the United
9 States Naval Academy in 2014 and went on to serve on the USS
10 Chancellorsville and the USS Decatur. During his service, he
11 deployed to the South China Sea, East China Sea, and the Middle
12 East, and he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, the Navy

1 Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Junior Officer
2 Leadership Award. Representative Beeler then continued service with
3 the Navy Reserve following his five years of commissioned service;
4 and
5 Whereas, Representative Beeler proudly served on the Joint
6 Committee on Administrative Rules and, from 2021 to 2023, served as
7 the vice minority chair on the Military, Veterans and Homeland
8 Security Committee in addition to contributing as a member of the
9 Education, Health Policy, and Tax Policy committees. During his
10 time in office, Representative Beeler sponsored a law to extend the
11 income tax filing deadline during the COVID-19 pandemic and
12 spearheaded laws to update state insurance regulations to protect
13 consumers. He has also led efforts to help Michigan residents save
14 on prescription drugs, cut red tape to help veterans become
15 teachers, and prohibit discriminatory race and gender stereotyping
16 in Michigan’s public school curriculum; now, therefore, be it
17 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we offer this
18 expression of tribute to commend and thank the Honorable Andrew
19 Beeler for his notable contributions to this legislative body and
20 to our state; and be it further
21 Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
22 Representative Andrew Beeler as evidence of our appreciation and
23 best wishes as he leaves this legislative body.
