HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.315
The Speaker, on behalf of the entire membership, offered the
following resolution:
1 A resolution of tribute for the Honorable Robert J. Bezotte.
2 Whereas, For serving this legislative body with great
3 commitment, we commend and thank Representative Robert J. Bezotte.
4 He has worked diligently for four years on behalf of the residents
5 of first the Forty-seventh and now the Fiftieth Districts in
6 Livingston County and the entire state of Michigan; and
7 Whereas, Representative Bezotte had long dedicated himself to
8 public safety and security before he became a legislator in 2020.
9 He served honorably in Vietnam before beginning a career with the
10 Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. For a decade, he left to be
11 Director of Security for Domino’s Pizza before returning to work
12 for the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, which ultimately

1 included serving as Livingston County Sheriff from 2005 to 2016. He
2 also developed his leadership skills at Eastern Michigan
3 University’s School of Police Staff and Command and the FBI
4 National Academy at the University of Virginia; and
5 Whereas, During his service in the Legislature, Representative
6 Bezotte drew upon his education and experience while serving as
7 Vice Chair of the Committee on Military, Veterans and Homeland
8 Security, as well as serving on the Committees on Communications
9 and Technology; Insurance and Financial Services; Local Government
10 and Municipal Finance; and Criminal Justice. Drawing upon his
11 record of honorable service to this nation, he championed the
12 creation of the Michigan Vietnam Veteran Recognition Certificate to
13 recognize those who served our country in the fight for freedom;
14 now, therefore, be it
15 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we thank
16 Representative Robert J. Bezotte for his service to his district,
17 the Michigan House of Representatives, and the state of Michigan;
18 and be it further
19 Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
20 Representative Bezotte and his family as a sign of our esteem for
21 his contributions to this body and our appreciation for his service
22 to his district and the state of Michigan.
