A bill to amend 1976 PA 399, entitled
"Safe drinking water act,"
(MCL 325.1001 to 325.1023) by adding section 15a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 15a. (1) If an adult foster care facility is supplied by
2 well water that is of sufficient volume and that does not exceed
3 the maximum permissible level for any contaminant, a local unit of
4 government or an authority established by 1 or more local units of
5 government shall not require the facility to connect to a different

1 waterworks system.
2 (2) As used in this section, "adult foster care facility" or
3 "facility" means an adult foster care facility as defined in
4 section 3 of the adult foster care facilities licensing act, 1979
5 PA 218, MCL 400.703, that provides care to 50 or fewer residents.
