A bill to amend 2002 PA 712, entitled
"Michigan Amber alert act,"
by amending the title and section 3 (MCL 28.753), the title as
amended by 2013 PA 91.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 TITLE
2 An act to prescribe the Amber alert of Michigan as the
3 official response to reports of child abductions or certain missing
4 children; to prohibit certain conduct; to create the Michigan Amber
5 alert fund; to provide for the distribution of the money from the
6 Michigan Amber alert fund; to provide for appropriations; and to

1 prescribe penalties.
2 Sec. 3. The Michigan Amber alert plan shall must be activated
3 only in accordance with the policies established by the department
4 of state police. Beginning on the effective date of the amendatory
5 act that added this sentence, the policies established by the
6 department in accordance with this section must include the
7 activation of the Amber alert plan for reports of a missing child
8 with special needs.
