A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1170c.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 1170c. By not later than the 2025-2026 school year, the
2 department shall ensure that the model core academic curriculum
3 content standards for biology and the subject area content
4 expectations and guidelines for biology under section 1278b provide
5 for an overview of human biology related to pregnancy, including at

1 least all of the following:
2 (a) An overview of human development inside the uterus.
3 (b) A presentation of a high-definition ultrasound video, not
4 less than 3 minutes in duration, showing the development of the
5 brain, heart, and other vital organs in early fetal development.
6 (c) A presentation of a high-quality, computer-generated
7 rendering or animation showing every stage of human development
8 inside the uterus, noting significant markers in cell growth and
9 organ development for every significant marker of pregnancy until
10 birth.
