A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
(MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 234g.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 234g. (1) Except as provided in subsection (2), an
2 individual who intentionally discharges a firearm at a motor
3 vehicle that he or she knows or has reason to believe is occupied
4 is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than
5 10 years or a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or both.
6 (2) An individual who violates subsection (1) and who knows or

1 has reason to believe that the vehicle is occupied by a minor is
2 guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 20
3 years or a fine of not more than $20,000.00, or both.
4 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
5 after the date it is enacted into law.
6 Enacting section 2. This act must be known and may be cited as
7 "Messiah's Law".
