Reps. VanderWall, Bezotte, Breen, Glanville, Haadsma and
Liberati offered the following resolution:
1 A resolution to declare June 2024 as Professional Pest
2 Management Month in the state of Michigan.
3 Whereas, Effective pest management in homes, businesses, and
4 public places throughout our state is an important factor in
5 maintaining the health and well-being of all Michiganders; and
6 Whereas, Pest management professionals help protect Michigan’s
7 food supply, homes, and the environment from disease and pest-
8 related illnesses by practicing environmentally-friendly pest
9 control methods; and
10 Whereas, The Michigan Pest Management Association provides

1 networking and leadership opportunities for Michigan’s pest
2 management professionals and is recognized for its efforts to
3 protect our environment as well as to ensure the safe and effective
4 use of pest management materials; and
5 Whereas, Through its website www.pestworld.org, the National
6 Pest Management Association is committed to educating the public
7 about the dangers posed by pests and the damage they can cause; and
8 Whereas, Professional Pest Management Month offers all
9 Michiganders an opportunity to understand and appreciate the
10 important role that pest management providers play in ensuring the
11 welfare of Michiganders; now, therefore, be it
12 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of
13 this legislative body recognize June 2024 as Professional Pest
14 Management Month in the state of Michigan, and we call this
15 observance to the attention of all our citizens.
