A bill to amend 1968 PA 302, entitled
"An act to define and prescribe the penalties for the crime of
rioting and related crimes; and to repeal certain acts and parts of
acts,"
by amending section 4 (MCL 752.544), as amended by 1988 PA 393.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 4. (1) A violation of section 1 , 2, or 2a is a felony,
2 punishable by not more less than 10 5 years in prison or more than
3 life or any term of years or a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or
4 both.
5 (2) A violation of section 2 is a felony. The court shall

1 sentence a person who violates section 2 to imprisonment for not
2 less than 10 years or more than life.
3 (3) (2) A violation of section 3 is a felony, punishable by
4 not more than 5 years in prison or a fine of not more than
5 $5,000.00, or both.
6 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
7 after the date it is enacted into law.
