A bill to amend 1993 PA 327, entitled
"Tobacco products tax act,"
by amending section 14 (MCL 205.434).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 14. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, beginning
2 on the effective date of this act, This act does not prohibit or in
3 any way restrict a city, township, village, county, or other local
4 unit of government , or political subdivision of this state shall
5 not impose any new from imposing a requirement or prohibition

1 pertaining to the sale or licensure of tobacco products. for
2 distribution purposes. This section does not invalidate or
3 otherwise restrict a requirement or prohibition described in this
4 section existing on the effective date of this act.Subject to any
5 applicable laws of this state regarding the adoption of an
6 ordinance or regulation, a city, township, village, county, or
7 other local unit of government or political subdivision of this
8 state may adopt ordinances and regulations pertaining to the sale
9 and licensure of tobacco products.
