A bill to amend 2016 PA 407, entitled
"Skilled trades regulation act,"
(MCL 339.5101 to 339.6133) by adding section 710.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 710. Notwithstanding any other provision in this article,
2 the department may issue a license under this article without an
3 examination to an individual if, at the time of application, all of
4 the following requirements are met:
5 (a) The individual holds a valid license issued by another

1 state that is equivalent to the license the individual is applying
2 for, as determined by the department.
3 (b) The requirements for licensure in the other state are, at
4 a minimum, substantially equivalent to the requirements for
5 licensure under this article, as determined by the department.
6 (c) The other state extends the same privileges through
7 reciprocity to an individual licensed under this article.
