A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled
"Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act,"
(MCL 125.1501 to 125.1531) by adding section 4i.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 4i. (1) All of the following must not be installed in or
2 on a new fire station, including its rooftop or an adjacent
3 structure to the fire station, or placed within 1,500 feet of a
4 fire station:
5 (a) A 4G or 5G main transmission antenna.

1 (b) Equipment that is 6 cubic feet or more in size and is used
2 to support 4G or 5G transmission.
3 (c) An antenna used to support 4G or 5G transmission.
4 (2) This section does not prohibit the installation or
5 placement of a small internet router unless the internet router
6 weighs 15 pounds or more or is used solely for the purpose of
7 providing 4G or 5G service.
8 (3) As used in this section:
9 (a) "4G" means the fourth generation of broadband cellular
10 network technology.
11 (b) "5G" means the fifth-generation technology standard for
12 broadband cellular networks.
13 (c) "New fire station" means a fire station that is initially
14 constructed on or after the effective date of the amendatory act
15 that added this section.
