A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
(MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 222b.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 222b. If a prosecuting attorney charges an individual
2 with a violation of this chapter, or any other violation of the
3 laws of this state, a conviction for which would result in the
4 individual being prohibited from possessing a firearm, the
5 prosecuting attorney shall not amend the charge in a manner that
6 would allow the individual to legally possess a firearm if a

1 conviction for the amended charge would not prohibit the individual
2 from possessing a firearm.
3 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
4 after the date it is enacted into law.
