CONTENT

 

House Bill 5262 (S-1)  would amend the Insurance Code to require an insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, or renews in the State a health insurance policy to provide a nonopioid directive form to insureds upon enrollment.

 

House Bill 5263 (H-1)  would amend the Insurance Code to require an insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, or renews in the State a health insurance policy to make available to its insureds a nonopioid directive form on its internet website.

 

House Bill 5264  would amend the Public Health Code to require a hospital to make available to the public a nonopioid directive form on its internet website.

 

As used in House Bills 5262 (S-1) and 5263 (H-1), "nonopioid directive form" would mean that term as defined in Section 9145 of the Public Health Code: the nonopioid directive form developed by the Department of Health and Human Services under the Code.  

 

House Bills 5262 (S-1) and 5263 (H-1) state that they apply to policies delivered, executed, issued, amended, adjusted, or renewed in the State, or outside of the State if covering Michigan residents, after June 30, 2022, and March 31, 2022, respectively.
