Resolve, Directing the Landowners and Land Users Relations Advisory
Board to Consider Issues Related to All-terrain Vehicles in the State
Sec. 1. Study ATV issues. Resolved: That the Landowners and Land Users
Relations Advisory Board, established in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 12, section
10157 and referred to in this resolve as "the advisory board," shall consider issues related
to weights, sizes and classifications of all-terrain vehicles, referred to in this resolve as
"ATVs," in the State. When considering issues related to ATVs, the advisory board shall
consult with the following stakeholders:
1. An individual who registered an oversized ATV and had that registration rescinded
by the State;
2. An ATV manufacturer;
3. An ATV dealer; and
4. Any other stakeholders as determined by the advisory board.
Sec. 2. Report. Resolved: That the advisory board shall report to the joint standing
committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over inland fisheries and wildlife matters
with findings and recommendations no later than February 1, 2027. The report must include
a summary of the meetings of the advisory board pertaining to the issues described in
section 1 and a list of the additional stakeholders included in those meetings as described
by section 1. The committee may report out a bill related to the report to the 133rd
Legislature in 2027.
