This bill requires the Commissioner of Education to annually determine the total cost for providing essential programs and services for the Maine School of Science and Mathematics for students from this State in the same manner that total costs for providing essential programs and services for school administrative units are determined under the essential programs and services school funding formula. For each fiscal year, the commissioner must include that amount in the commissioner's funding levels recommendation submitted to the Governor and the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Bureau of the Budget and the Governor must include that funding level in the Governor's annual recommendation for funding levels.
