An Act to Amend a Notice Provision Regarding Registration of Out-of-state
Child Custody Determinations Under the Uniform Child Custody
Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 19-A MRSA §1765, sub-§2, ¶B, as enacted by PL 1999, c. 486, §3 and
affected by §6, is amended to read:
B. Serve Provide a notice upon with the information required under subsection 3 to
the person seeking registration, who shall then serve the notice on the other persons
named pursuant to subsection 1, paragraph C and provide them with an opportunity to
contest the registration in accordance with this section. Notice must be given in a
manner allowed under section 1738.
