An Act to Require the University of Maine to Provide Education Regarding
Meat and Poultry Processing
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 7 MRSA §197 is enacted to read:
§197. Meat processing workforce development and education
The University of Maine within available funding shall provide cooperative extension
education regarding meat and poultry processing, including quality control training and
hazard analysis critical control point training and plan development for meat and poultry
processors.
Sec. 2. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and
allocations are made.

Educational and General Activities - UMS 0031
Initiative: Provides one-time funds for cooperative extension education regarding meat and
poultry processing, including quality control training and hazard analysis critical control
point training and plan development for meat and poultry processors.
